Red Oak Activities Director Mark Erickson shared a full update on what’s happening around the district, along with a strong reminder that student involvement matters. Whether it’s band, choir, speech, athletics, or clubs, students can gain discipline, confidence, and life skills that last well beyond high school.
Highlights include Southwest Iowa Honor Band (concert tonight at 7:00 PM in Atlantic), upcoming honor choirs at Wartburg (Jan. 25–26) and Nebraska Wesleyan (Feb. 5–6), and preparations for the high school musical The Sound of Music (Feb. 26 through March 1). The girls track season begins Monday, Feb. 23, and coaches are looking for jumpers and throwers.
Erickson also noted that if families have concerns about costs, transportation, or equipment, there are community resources available to help students participate.
