East Mills Community School District is growing its TeamMates mentoring program, and coordinator Lindsey Franklin says the program has seen a big increase in interest in year two.
TeamMates is a one-to-one mentoring program for students in grades 3–12. Mentors meet with students about 30 minutes each week during the school year, and activities can be as simple as playing games, shooting hoops, or just talking.
Interested in becoming a mentor? Mentors must be 18+ and complete an application, background check, and short training.
