Stanton CSD Update 9-18-26: Yearbook Deadline, Homecoming Recap, and a 6 o’clock Kickoff

 

 

Stanton Community School District’s Friday visit this week came from the classroom, not the office. English and journalism teacher Charm Carpenter arrived with seniors, juniors, and freshmen from her seven-student journalism crew — Corinne Hoff, Lauren Roberts, and Elsie Vance — and they spent the half hour on what is happening now: yearbooks, Homecoming, construction keys, and a football kickoff that moved up an hour

 

This weekend and next week

• Football at Woodbine tonight. Kickoff moved to 6 p.m. Get there early.

• JV volleyball tournament Saturday in Griswold. Stanton won it last year. Twenty-two girls are out for volleyball.

• Varsity volleyball Monday at Southwest Valley.

• Elementary FAST testing begins Monday, Sept. 21.

• School pictures Tuesday, Sept. 22.

• Poetry Tea Time remains every Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. in Carpenter’s room — the old Stephens room. Third year. Students, staff, and community. Tea, not coffee. Clark Spencer started it and later launched a club at Iowa State.

• Band marches at Shen Fest in Shenandoah next Saturday, Sept. 26, 2 p.m.
