VILLISCA — Two people were arrested Friday following a domestic violence investigation in Villisca.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Villisca at approximately 12:54 p.m. on July 31 for a reported domestic violence situation.
The investigation resulted in the arrests of 26-year-old Nathan Simmons of Villisca and 22-year-old Malana Howe of Clarinda. Both were charged with domestic abuse assault, first offense, a simple misdemeanor.
Simmons and Howe were transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where they were held without bond pending appearances before a magistrate.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
