UTV fire reported in Villisca Saturday morning
VILLISCA, Iowa — Firefighters responded to a UTV fire Saturday morning in Villisca that resulted in the vehicle being declared a total loss.
According to information released by the Villisca Fire Department, crews were dispatched at approximately 11:42 a.m. to the 100 block of West 5th Street, in the alley, for a report of a UTV on fire.
A Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrived on scene and reported the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters arrived shortly after and confirmed the UTV was fully involved.
Crews were able to quickly knock down the fire and prevent significant spread, though there was minor fire extension into a nearby northern yard area.
Officials reported no injuries. The UTV was considered a total loss.
All fire apparatus returned to service at approximately 12:05 p.m.
