EMERSON, Iowa —Multiple southwest Iowa fire departments responded to a field fire Saturday afternoon near the Montgomery and Mills County line.
According to responding agencies, the Emerson Fire Department, Red Oak Fire Department, and Elliott Fire Department were dispatched at approximately 4:41 p.m. on March 14 to the area of 150th Street and A Avenue for a reported field fire.

Fire crews worked quickly to contain and extinguish the flames. The coordinated response helped prevent the fire from spreading further across the field.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Agencies responding or assisting included the Red Oak Fire Department, Elliott Fire Department, Emerson Fire Department, Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency, Montgomery County Communications, Mills County Communications, and Mills County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Officials also expressed appreciation to the two farmers who provided equipment that helped control the fire.
