Montgomery County Farm Bureau member Cody Vanderholm joined KCSI to talk about how local voices help shape agricultural policy from the county level all the way to Washington, D.C.
Vanderholm explained the grassroots policy process, where members can submit issues they’re seeing on the farm or in their communities.
Those ideas are reviewed locally, then move through state and national levels to influence real policy decisions.
He also highlighted that Farm Bureau membership is open to everyone, not just farmers, and encourages community members to get involved.
