RED OAK, Iowa — A Red Oak man was arrested after police executed a search warrant connected to recent theft investigations in the community.
According to the Red Oak Police Department, officers conducted a search warrant on March 3, 2026, at 101 E. Prospect Street as part of an investigation into thefts reported in the area. During the investigation, officers recovered items believed to be stolen property.
As a result of the search, 44-year-old Jesse Donald Trost of Red Oak was arrested.
Trost faces the following charges:

Theft 4th Degree, a serious misdemeanor

Possession of Stolen Property, an aggravated misdemeanor

Felon in Possession of a Firearm, a Class D felony
Bond was set at $5,000.
The Red Oak Police Department was assisted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the K9 Unit during the investigation.
Authorities note that all charges are accusations and Trost is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law
