Coach Ruskell Highlights Positives and Growth for Red Oak Softball

June 9, 2026 Posted by Melanie West home page No Comments
While the Red Oak Tiger softball team is young this season, Head Coach Alec Ruskell said there are plenty of positives to take away as the Tigers continue to build experience and confidence.
Ruskell said the team’s main goal is simple: keep improving.

“We’re getting better every day,” Ruskell said. “With the young team, we just focus on getting better every time we can.”
The Tigers have one of the younger rosters in the area, with eight eighth-graders, two freshmen, two sophomores and one senior. Ruskell said that makes patience and development important, but he has been encouraged by the players’ willingness to keep working and trust the process.
He said the team has shown the ability to bounce back, support one another and find positives even through difficult games.
