Feb. 13, 2026 at 9:45 p.m.: Anaya Maree Michelle Gourley, 19, of Ames, was arrested on N. Cherry Street and charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), first offense. Gourley was cited and released on a promise to appear.

Feb. 13, 2026 at 9:45 p.m.: Makayla Lynn Ira, 21, of Des Moines, was arrested on N. Cherry Street and charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), first offense. Ira was cited and released on a promise to appear.

Feb. 14, 2026 at 11:19 a.m.: Noah Alexander Young, 26, listed as homeless, was arrested at Sycamore and Montgomery and charged with third-degree burglary (non-vehicle). Young was transported to the Union County Jail and held with no bond until seen by a judge.

Feb. 15, 2026 at 1:00 a.m.: Shaeina Laitaija Raeche Allison, 37, of Creston, was arrested at Sycamore and Buckeye and charged with driving while license denied/suspended/cancelled/revoked. Allison was cited and released on a promise to appear.

Feb. 15, 2026 at 3:30 a.m.: Marina Lissette Basaldua, 24, of Lenox, was arrested at 302 N. Pine Street and charged with driving while license denied/suspended/cancelled/revoked and OWI, first offense. Basaldua was transported to the Union County Jail and later posted a $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Feb. 15, 2026 at 5:35 p.m.: Tinneal Fay Harris reported a 2018 Ford Explorer was stolen from her residence in the 500 block of S. Bureau sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning. Estimated loss was $8,000.

Feb. 3, 2026 at 4:35 p.m.: Creston Police reported a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Oak Street and U.S. Highway 34 East. A 2002 Ford F-350 (Unit 1) was eastbound on Highway 34 when a 2009 Saturn Vue (Unit 2), southbound on S. Oak Street, entered the intersection and was struck on the rear passenger side. The Unit 2 driver was evaluated by Greater Regional Medical Center medics for shortness of breath and left with family. Unit 2 was towed; Unit 1 was able to drive away.
