Red Oak High School Activities Director Mark Erickson joined KCSI to recap a busy stretch for Red Oak activities—highlighting the upcoming spring musical, postseason updates for winter sports, and key deadlines as spring seasons get underway.
Erickson previewed the Red Oak High School musical, “The Sound of Music,” with four performances scheduled Thursday–Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. He noted it’s the first time Red Oak has produced the show and encouraged community support, with tickets available online or by card at the door ($8 adults / $7 students).
On the winter sports front, Erickson reflected on the close of girls basketball and praised the team’s effort and leadership—especially the program’s seniors. He also highlighted two Red Oak wrestlers headed to the state tournament—Izac Zarate and Dayton Gusman—with state competition beginning Thursday.
Erickson also pointed to several upcoming dates: boys bowling at the state-qualifying meet Monday at 10:00 a.m. in Council Bluffs, boys basketball hosting Clarinda Monday at 7:00 p.m., and a junior high boys wrestling meet Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. (with nine teams expected). Looking ahead, he reminded families not to wait on spring requirements like physical forms, concussion paperwork, insurance forms, and Bound registration, especially with medical appointments often booking out.
