Red Oak Police report two-vehicle accident at 8th and Washington

RED OAK, Iowa — The Red Oak Police Department investigated a two-vehicle property damage accident Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of North 8th Street and West Washington Street.

According to the accident report, the crash occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. One vehicle, a 2008 Dodge Avenger driven by Kirk Duane Griffith, sustained an estimated $4,000 in damage.

The second vehicle, a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado C-1500 driven by Erin Michelle Adams, sustained an estimated $2,000 in damage.

According to the police report, Griffith’s vehicle was stopped at a stop sign facing south on North 8th Street, while Adams’ vehicle was stopped at a stop sign facing east on West Washington Street. Adams began making a left turn to travel north through the intersection. Shortly afterward, Griffith proceeded south through the intersection and the two vehicles collided.

The report states both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene. No citations were issued.

The accident was investigated by the Red Oak Police Department.
