4th Annual Evergreen Cemetery Walk Set for June 26 in Red Oak

The fourth annual Evergreen Cemetery Walk will return Friday, June 26, as part of Red Oak’s Junction Days activities, offering residents and visitors a chance to learn more about the people and history connected to the community.

  • Event: Fourth annual Evergreen Cemetery Walk
  • Date: Friday, June 26
  • Time: Starts at 9:30 a.m.; attendees encouraged to arrive between 8:45 and 9:30 a.m.
  • Location: Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak
  • Parking: Along 8th Street or at the high school
  • Tickets: $15 for adults, $5 for students
  • Ticket locations: Red Oak Chamber office, Questers members, Evergreen Cemetery, and at the cemetery the day of the event
  • Luncheon: After the walk at the cemetery gazebo
  • Luncheon provider: Elks Club
  • Luncheon cost: Free-will donation
  • Meal note: Pulled pork and potato salad are expected
  • Purpose: Raise money for restoration of Evergreen Cemetery’s historic brick entrances
  • Accessibility: Rides available for those who cannot walk up the hill; chairs available at each site
  • Format: Guided groups with color-coded shirts, flags, and maps
  • Rain location: Christian Church
