• FFA fruit sales are open. Fruit, beef jerky, cheese, and pickled herring. Contact an FFA member or the school. Advisor Andi Bruch is at nationals in Indianapolis. Deadline estimated at two to three weeks.

• National Student Poetry Contest deadline is Nov. 12. 2–20 lines. No concrete or blackout poems. See Charm Carpenter in her classroom.

• Yearbooks. Email ccarpenter@stanschools.com. Seniors need two senior photos and a baby photo.

• Junior class is selling Eileen’s cookie dough.

• Student council Nothing Bundt Cakes fundraiser starts next month after fruit sales wrap. Lacey Stephens and Ashley McDonald advise. About 15 members.

 

Calendar notes

Volleyball plays Monday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m. at Mormon Trail. Cross country season is over. Spanish juniors and seniors will visit the Latino Museum in Omaha as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.
